If Christ is not risen

Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.

But now Christ
is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
1 Corinthians 15:12-20 NKJV
Just a reminder, in case you had already heard about film director James Cameron's latest documentary, in which he challenges the resurrection. It's not only Church men who are challenging him on his claims, it looks, so far, like the larger archeological community is not happy with him either.

It's good to lead with the word of God. It puts attention grabbing stories like this into perspective. How can I believe anything the Bible says if I can't believe that Christ ascended? Well I for one do and I had to thank God this morning for your post and of all places, ABC News online. They oddly ran the story with a skeptical slant.
He said there are more than 900 buried tombs just like the "Jesus" tomb within a 2-mile radius of Talpiyot. Of them, 71 bear the name Jesus and two Jesus, son of Joseph. The tomb in Talpiyot is one of them. But the inscription, he said, was barely decipherable and therefore questionable.
